Mitzvah Day Mazeltov!

Tuesday evening Sue Taylor and Mrs Stone were delighted to attend the Mitzvah Day award ceremony where Mrs Taylor received our Mitzvah Day Award for Youth Achievement.

This celebrates the activities we have undertaken over many years, involving the whole school in social action as part of this special day.

In 10 years since its inception, Mitzvah Day UK has evolved into a multi-faith national and international initiative. 

Mitzvah Day embodies Jewish and universal values that we embrace and aim to embody at Akiva. Huge thanks to the whole school community, particularly the PTA who have made the parent body so much a part of Mitzvah Day at Akiva. Special thanks, too to Mrs Taylor and her predecessor in the co-ordinator role, Yvette Zinger, whose effort and enthusiasm have sustained and developed Akiva’s participation.

In 2019 Mitzvah Day in School will be on Friday November 15^th and we will be delighted to receive your suggestions as to how we can make it even better.
